Artemis Composites is a French cleantech company that designs and produces sustainable, lightweight solutions using its proprietary automated composite process. These high-performance structural composites are designed to reduce environmental impact across a wide range of applications, particularly in automotive and aerospace.
The patented process enables automated high-rate production of structural composite parts with continuous, oriented fibres. A weight reduction of more than 20% can be achieved compared to current composites due to optimal placement of fibres in the load paths. The elimination of consumables and little or no scrap leads to a reduction in environmental impact of more than 50%.
Artemis Composite supports clients in design using simulation tools to optimise fibre orientation. FEA models can be exported for validation by the client. A dedicated development line supports pre-series production and, with in-house testing facilities, enables acceleration of product development and qualification.
The fully automated and connected production line with an IoT-enabled, integrated production management system guarantees the quality of high-rate production and optimises energy consumption. The process is compatible with existing high-performance materials such as automotive and aerospace grade carbon fibre, glass fibre and natural fibres as well as discontinuous recycled fibres.
Automotive manufacturers request reductions in vehicle weight and environmental impact. Development begins within Coriolis Composites, a world leader in the automation of composite processing, as part of a collaborative programme with Audi.

Artemis Composites launched to accelerate the development and marketing of the Crossfelt technology. Production facility with capability for high volume production opened, with a dedicated development line.
Since 2015, Alexandre Hamlyn has led a team of experienced engineers developing the innovation that has now become Artemis Composites. Strategic projects with Stellantis, Audi and Airbus provided stepping stones to establish and test the process, raising the technology readiness level (TRL). The team’s inventions have led to 12 patents, providing freedom to present the technology at several conferences worldwide.
Extensive composite design experience within the team allows us to support clients in part development and qualification. Our world-leading expertise in automated fibre placement (AFP) complements strategic skills in forming simulation and software programming as well as the forming process, HP-RTM, quality control, automation and robotics.
