Artemis Composites’ technology was selected as part of a development project led by Stellantis to reduce weight of future plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.
The project focused on developing a composite component to replace a metallic part for structural reinforcement of the chassis.
Development began with the engineering phase, including composite part design, material data card creation, and crash simulation. Once the design was validated through crash testing, 100 parts were produced to assess high-rate manufacturing, quality at scale, and serial production costs.
